Long tailed tit paper cut

Chirping softly in the trees, long tailed tits are a gregarious bunch, see one and you can be sure that a whole host are not far behind! They must be one of our cutest garden visitors, little balls of fluff with a pleasing pink, grey, black and white colour palette.

This is the first birdie paper cut I ever did and it has proved pretty popular at fairs and my studio at the Craft and Design Centre in Manchester.

I enjoy the challenge of simplifying my drawings down to basic shapes to form these delicate paper cuts. They are made from 100% recycled kraft paper with painstakingly hand assembled coloured inlays.

Individual shapes are meticulously cut from various coloured and textured papers to add detail to the birds.
